Compliance Case Files
Multi-channel conceptual campaign

A multi-channel noir-style concept series that explored gray‑area concepts HR employees often experience every day. It highlighted common problems they face, the fallout of missteps and how the "HR disasters" could have been avoided.

The Concept
Compliance is not the most exciting of subjects. Traliant's Senior Content Manager and I collaborated to change that, framing workplace compliance violations as cases in the genre of a true‑crime story comic.
I led the creative direction of this multi‑channel exploratory noir‑style series, creating the cinematic video trailers, digital "case files," and social media teasers. While the conservative nature of legal reviews ultimately kept it on the drawing board, this project stands as a prime example of how, with a compelling storyline and eye-catching design, even the driest of subjects can be transformed into something engaging and immersive.
Video
The Case of the Wrongful Termination
Built for deployment across the website and social channels, this cinematic video was designed to instantly hook audiences with its suspenseful music, eerie voiceover and comic-style graphics.
The videos, each about two to three minutes long, are dramatizations of scenarios HR professionals face in their everyday professional lives. This particular video tells the story of a manager who fires an employee who had requested an accommodation that was never documented.
Digital Case File
The Case of the Wrongful Termination
Designed to accompany the video as a downloadable resource, this interactive digital file paired engaging storytelling with practical enablement. This multi-page layout didn't just tell a compelling story — each one highlighted a specific pain point, explained the potential fallout from a misstep and explained how it could have been avoided.
On the last page, the solution linked directly to the corresponding web page, allowing the user to learn more about the course that could help prevent the potential "HR disaster."

Social Media
Social Media Campaign
To drive traffic from social channels back to the full case studies, I designed a two-part social set for each story consisting of an eye-catching cover card and a teaser graphic.
These assets were built to stop the scroll in busy feeds by leveraging the gritty true-crime noir aesthetic, highlighting an immediate workplace risk, and teasing the investigation details to entice click-throughs.

Digital Guide
7 Signs a Manager Decision Could Become Your Next Crime Scene
Designed as an engaging piece for HR leaders, this multi-page guide addresses common managerial missteps. By framing everyday compliance risks — such as unrecorded performance issues, overlooked complaints or biased decisions — as crime scene clues, the design effectively breaks down complex legal risks into clear urgent warnings paired with actionable prevention strategies.
The layout balances dramatic narrative framing with clean structural hierarchy, integrating risk analysis with conversion touchpoints for Traliant's core manager training programs. This innovative approach drives awareness around workplace compliance and employment law while serving as an effective enablement tool that equips HR teams to promote proactive leadership training.
